Many managers know staff wellbeing is important, but many find it hard to find time or ways to support their teams’ unique wellbeing needs: At Rener Wellbeing, we have surveyed thousands of managers across a range of organisations globally, when developing bespoke wellbeing strategies for their organisations. From the data, we know that most managers understand why employee wellbeing is important and why they should be creating enabling and encouraging environments for their staff. We recognise the challenges that managers face in supporting the wellbeing of their teams - time constraints is the main obstacle, followed by a lack of knowledge on the practical ways to support their teams’ wellbeing. That's why we're dedicated to providing practical tools and tips to empower managers to navigate these challenges and cultivate environments where their teams can thrive, even when time and resources are tight, (and highlight why it is worth spending this time to support team members’ wellbeing).
But why is workplace wellbeing so crucial for business performance? We know that happier healthier staff = a nicer place to work! (who wouldn’t want this?). However, some managers feel this comes at the cost of work performance or what feel like essential tasks getting done on time. Across industries, and organisations size, we know improving staff wellbeing doesn’t come at the cost of business performance, it actually helps teams to thrive - and we can see measurable improvements around metrics impacting bottom lines.
The business case for workplace wellbeing:
Improved business performance: we can see improvements in many quantifiable and qualitatively measured KPIs when staff are happier and healthier.
Increased productivity: Happy and healthy employees are more focused, energetic, and efficient, leading to higher levels of productivity and output and lower presenteeism costs.
Reduction in absences: Workplace stress and burnout can lead to increased absenteeism, impacting productivity and morale and more burden on other staff members who have to pick up the work. By supporting employee wellbeing, organisations can reduce absenteeism and create a more resilient workforce.
Improved team working: A positive work environment fosters collaboration, communication, and teamwork, leading to greater cohesion and effectiveness within teams.
Enhanced problem-solving: Well-rested and mentally resilient employees are better equipped to tackle challenges and find innovative solutions, driving continuous improvement and growth.
Increased retention rates: Are you aware of the financial, time and intellectual costs associated with the turnover rate in your organisation? Employees who feel valued and supported are more likely to remain with the organisation, reducing turnover costs and preserving institutional knowledge.
At Rener Wellbeing, we've seen first-hand the impact of bespoke wellbeing strategies, tailored to the unique needs of each organisation. Through targeted interventions and initiatives, we consistently see measurable improvements in self-reported wellbeing and business metrics, delivering tangible ROI for our clients.
Wellbeing Training for Leaders: To further support leaders in championing workplace wellbeing, we are excited to announce our upcoming wellbeing training session. With both in-person and virtual options available, this session will provide practical tools and tips to help leaders understand the unique wellbeing needs of their teams, foster meaningful conversations about wellbeing, and create team cultures that prioritise employee wellbeing—all in a time-efficient, streamlined manner.
Additionally, we'll provide personalised support to help leaders integrate wellbeing into their own work and home lives, based on their unique circumstances, goals, and preferences.
Participants will leave with immediate next steps to implement in their organisations and teams, as well as a sustainable action plan for ongoing wellbeing initiatives.
