Institute of Government & Public Policy Event Code of Conduct


Introduction:

Welcome to Institute of Government & Public Policy events! Our goal is to create a respectful and inclusive environment where attendees can engage in meaningful discussions, share ideas, and foster collaboration. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment based on characteristics that include, but are not limited to,

age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and parenthood, race, religion or belief (or lack thereof), gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, technical choices, experience level or any other dimension of diversity.

This policy applies to all Institute of Government & Public Policy -sponsored and affiliated events, and the policies herein apply to all Institute of Government & Public Policy directors, attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, participants, employees, contractors, volunteers, and guests at the conferences and related events. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we ask all participants to adhere to the following code of conduct.

1. Respect and Inclusivity:

Treat all attendees, speakers, organisers, and staff with respect and courtesy.

Embrace diversity and inclusion. Be mindful of different perspectives and experiences.

Avoid discriminatory or offensive language, gestures, or behaviour.

2. Professionalism:

Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

Refrain from disruptive behaviour that may hinder the event or disturb other participants.

Dress appropriately for the occasion.

3. Engagement and Collaboration:

Actively participate in discussions and activities.

Foster a collaborative environment by encouraging constructive dialogue.

Listen to others and allow them to express their opinions.

4. Privacy and Confidentiality:

Respect the privacy of others and do not share personal information without consent.

Avoid recording or sharing sensitive information discussed during the event without permission.

5. Technology Etiquette (For Virtual Events):

Use appropriate language and maintain a professional tone in virtual discussions.

Mute your microphone when not speaking to minimize background noise.

Utilize video responsibly and be mindful of your surroundings.

Content found breaching this may be deleted or removed without warning.

6. Compliance with Laws and Policies:

Abide by all applicable laws and regulations during the event.

Adhere to the specific policies outlined by Institute of Government & Public Policy.

7. Reporting Violations:

Report any violations of this code of conduct to event organisers promptly.

Organisers will take appropriate action to address reported violations.

Consequences of Violations:

Violations of this code of conduct may result in consequences such as warnings, removal from the event, or other actions deemed necessary by the organisers. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event and won't hesitate to remove anyone who is not conforming to the code without the option for a refund or compensation.

By participating in Institute of Government & Public Policy events, you agree to abide by this code of conduct and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive experience for all.
