The Institute of Government and Public Policy is pleased to offer this advanced four-day development programme, delivered in partnership with In Professional Development (INPD). The Senior Leadership Programme at CMI Level 7 is designed for experienced leaders who want to sharpen their thinking, strengthen their strategic capability, and build the confidence to lead through complexity and change.

The programme addresses the real challenges facing senior leaders today: navigating digital disruption, building high-performing and resilient teams, developing and executing strategy in volatile environments, and leading effective organisational change. It goes well beyond management fundamentals, combining leadership theory with applied practice, peer collaboration, and reflective learning.

Delivered by expert facilitators and industry practitioners, each session connects theory directly to participants’ own leadership contexts. By the end of the programme, delegates leave with a draft Personal Development Plan, a draft organisational strategy, and a stronger, more self-aware approach to leading at senior level.

The programme is open to professionals at senior or director level across all sectors, including central government, the wider public sector, and private and not-for-profit organisations.

Included within the course fee is the option to pursue a CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice. This requires completion of two written assignments and provides a nationally recognised qualification in strategic leadership.
