Learning Outcomes
After attending the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Define the term "Neurodiversity" and differentiate between the social and medical models of neurodiversity, to gain an understanding of how this concept can be applied in the workplace
- Identify and apply neuroinclusive language in the workplace, recognising the impact it has on promoting inclusivity and diversity
- Recognise and gain knowledge of different neurodivergent conditions, including their unique characteristics and challenges, to develop a better understanding of how to support neurodivergent individuals in the workplace
- Evaluate a range of workplace adjustments and accommodations that can be made to support neurodivergent individuals, considering both individual and systemic approaches
- Explore strategies to create a neuroinclusive workplace culture, including promoting a culture of inclusion and allyship, providing appropriate support and resources, and developing effective retention strategies for neurodivergent employees
