Overview

The Institute of Government and Public Policy are pleased to present a 2-day Aspiring Leaders programme aimed at new or aspiring leaders looking to enhance their skills and knowledge to manage teams and lead with confidence.

The course will focus on key leadership and management skills, as well as the attitudes, beliefs, and mindset required to lead colleagues.  The training will be very practical, hands-on, and engaging.  Every session will include an activity, team challenge, or coaching exercise, ensuring that participants are fully engaged throughout.

Each participant will create a Personal Development Plan that we will ask them to share with their line manager.  They will also be provided with a detailed course workbook that they will be encouraged to refer to following the training.

The course will be suitable for participants from all areas of the organisation, and we encourage cross-functional discussion and networking during the course.

Feedback from our previous course delegates includes the following:

“Absolutely fantastic course – engaging delivery, relevant content, and real flexibility to suit our needs. The tutor was brilliant at tailoring the material to our interests and encouraging meaningful discussions. I left feeling inspired, with tools I can immediately apply in my role.”

“This was my first external leadership training, and it exceeded expectations. The tutors’ friendly and upbeat approach created a great learning environment. They brought valuable insights, encouraged participation, and really made the sessions practical and relevant to our work.”

The trainer was excellent– responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making the course useful for us. The pacing was thoughtful, the breaks were well-structured, and the group size allowed for meaningful interaction. I walked away with both new tools and a fresh perspective.”
