Mia is a research officer at Prison Reform Trust, an independent UK charity working to create a just, humane and effective penal system. Mia is currently leading a project exploring prisoner-facing technology. Previous co-authored reports have focused on Imprisonment for Public Protection, employment for people convicted of sexual offences, and Covid in prisons. Prior to joining the Prison Reform Trust Mia completed a PhD exploring the experiences of LGBT people in prison.
