Jenny Rowlands

Camden Council

Chief Executive Officer

Jenny Rowlands has been Chief Executive of Camden Council since March 2019. She has spent her career in public service and local government, with a focus on tackling inequality and injustice, and liberating communities. After Covid-19 and in the midst of a cost of living crisis, she is harnessing the collective resources of Camden to tackle current challenges the borough is facing: she is working together with Camden’s entrepreneurial citizens, world-leading businesses, creative communities, and innovative research institutions to create a fairer and more sustainable borough. Internally, she is building a bold and courageous approach to leadership at Camden, unleashing collective imagination to raise ambitions and support a deep mindset shift in the workforce. In March Camden became the first local authority to publish its gender pension gap, alongside its gender ethnicity and disability pay gap data. Jenny believes that by shining a light on disparity, you can acknowledge a problem exists and begin to talk about how to fix it. Jenny is one of the two sponsors of the London Boroughs Women’s Network which gives women at different career stages the opportunity to form a collective voice and help each other.
