Robin Stott is retired medical consultant site dean and medical director of Lewisham University Hospital. From the start of his career he recognised that the health and wellbeing of individuals and populations was most likely to flourish in societies which are socially and economically equal and developed within environmental limits. He was active in the anti colonial struggles ,chairman of MEDACT for 10 years , chair of of the international committee of physicians for the prevention of nuclear war for 2 years, chair of the climate and health council from 2007 to 2015 and one of the founders of the Uk health alliance on climate change in 2015, to which he is now an ambassador. He has been married to Janet for 55 years, is the proud and indulgent father of two and grandfather of 7, exercises vigorously, sings in choir, practices Tai Chi, is a competent bridge player , a keen amateur astronomer and frightens the cat with his clarinet playing.
