Joonhee Won is the Chief Executive Officer and the Founder of Knowledge AI Inc. His lifelong mission is to improve education by using latest advances in artificial intelligence technology. He strongly believes the education should evolve from current classroom structure to more individualized learning. Knowledge AI creates software platform that handles time consuming job such as grading, and provides comprehensive insights from cognitive and behavioral data from students’ everyday work. Using the data, our AI Tutor provides web based self learning platform for each individual student. Knowledge AI is a Singaporean Holding company which holds shares of Knowledge AI Inc. a Delaware company based in Boston, MA.
Joonhee is currently also the CEO of Anoto AB, a Swedish company that pioneered digital pen technology. Anoto’s digital pen is used as an input device and critical data accumulation device for the application of AI algorithm. Anoto is a NASDAQ listed Swedish company and the parent company of Knowledge AI Inc.
Joonhee’s passion for education came from his long experience as the Executive Chairman of Time Education, one of the largest Korea based private education institutions. Before actively leading Time Education, Joonhee also was a private equity founder Tstone Corp with accumulated AUM of $1 billion.
Joonhee started his career as an investment banker for Lehman Brothers New York HQ where he did Healthcare banking, with special focus on Biotech and M&A. Joonhee also worked with CSFB Hong Kong as Vice President before he managed Salomon Smith Barney Korea as a Managing Director and the Head of Investment Banking.
He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA, with distinction and a college scholars in government and economics, from Cornell University.
