Queen's Nurse, Director at Lemur Health

Emma Persand is the founder and director of Lemur Health and Working with the Menopause and a qualified nurse and workplace health and wellbeing professional. She delivers health education and training to businesses and healthcare professionals to support the diverse needs of all.

 

Emma received the title of Queen’s Nurse from the Queens Nursing Institute in 2022 and was awarded the Cavell Star Award by the Cavell Nurses’ Trust in recognition of her commitment to leadership and inclusive employee health. Lemur Health was honoured as a finalist in the Nursing Times, Diversity, and Inclusion Champion of the Year.


Emma completed the Specialist Skills Certificate of Menopause Care and the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Certificate for Menopause symptoms through the British Menopause Society. 

 

She contributed to the European Menopause and Andropause Society’s Task Force, 2022 global statement on ‘What healthcare professionals need to know about menopause’ and was part of the team that produced the BSI guide ‘Menstruation, menstrual health and menopause in the workplace’ guide.

 

Emma is vice-chair of the Society of Occupational Medicine’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, and co-chair of Greater Manchester Combined Authority’s Women and Girls Equality Panel – Education, Skills, and Employment sub-group.
