MH ambassador, advocate, trainer, consultant and MH survivor with Lived experience/PTSD

Phil has worked in the public sector for over 35 years with the last 22.5 years as a Police officer. He has recently retired from Policing.

Phil has been involved in Health and wellbeing for 10 years when he first started collaborating with local, regional and National MIND and drove the Blue Light Programme agenda into the emergency services sector.

This ultimately led to Phil being the National Police ‘leads’ within the working group partnership of the Blue Light Programme and also within the Royal Foundation working group around emergency services wellbeing.

Since 2019 Phil has been a qualified First aid Mental health trainer and has delivered in excess of 100 course both internally and externally. He is passionate, determined and dedicated into making working environments a safer place for employees health and wellbeing.

Phil is very open and honest about his mental health journey and has ‘lived experience’ of mental health being diagnosed with PTSD in 2022.

As a Police Inspector, Phil had a unique role in his last 4 years in Policing and was the ‘Wellbeing and Blue Light’ coordinator on a full time basis which was traditionally a civilian role.
