The built environment must act – “I want you to act as you would in a crisis. I want you to act as if our house is on fire. Because it is.” – Greta Thunberg, World Economic Forum, Davos 2019. In her session, Fiona/Lynsey will discuss how the construction industry must continually innovate to positively affect the climate emergency. The construction industry accounts for approximately 60% of UK materials use, and generates 47% of UK carbon emissions – 80% of those are from buildings in use. Fiona/Lynsey will demonstrate how CSIC is leading a cultural shift realise the potential in our pursuit of Net Zero Carbon.
