Online Conference 29 March 2023, 9:00am - 3:00pm
According to the Office of National Statistics, 7.5% of adults are estimated to have experienced sexual abuse as a child. Between 2013-2020, there has been a 267% increase in the number of CSEA offences recorded by the police, with unreported figures potentially as high as 90% according to a report by the Children's Commissioner, the true number will be significantly greater.
This event will examine the latest developments in the tackling of child sexual abuse and exploitation, including the Government’s Tackling Child Sexual Abuse Strategy. Delving into recent reports by key agencies including the NSPCC, attendees will hear case study examples of collaborative working in prevention and response to CSEA from key stakeholders and experts in the field.
Last year's Countering Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse 2022 event featured keynote presentations and case studies from representatives of The Children’s Society, The centre for expertise on child sexual abuse, the Internet Watch Foundation, and more. In 2023, we aim to continue the conversation, inviting representatives from key organisations that work to tackle child sexual exploitation and abuse, to present keynote addresses and case studies on the issue.
