The Healthcare Innovation and Technology Online Conference 2023

Online Conference 19 January 2023, 9:00am - 3:00pm

Overview

In February 2022, the Health and Social Care Secretary set out his priorities for health care by focussing on personalised care, levelling up and harnessing the power of technological breakthroughs. Electronic patient records are to be rolled out to 90% of trusts by December 2023 so NHS staff can access all relevant patient information quickly. The plan also sets for 75% of adults in England to be using the NHS App by March 2024 and commits to publishing a digital health plan by the end of this year.

Embracing digital and personalized healthcare technologies has become one of the key priorities for all devolved administrations across the United Kingdom. Scottish Government Minister for Business, Trade, Tourism and Enterprise has recently emphasized the strategic importance of HealthTech as a part of the nation’s life sciences sector, which focuses on addressing the world’s biggest health challenges through data-driven health solutions, innovation, and design and manufacture. Edinburgh is now home to a dedicated operation of The Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) which helps bring the work of industry and academic innovators to more patients. This conference will bring to light similar initiatives and track healthcare tech progress in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

This timely online event will reflect on the developments in digital transformation being currently put at the heart of health and social care reforms. It will showcase technologies, processes, and the best practices fundamental to achieving positive healthcare outcomes such as clearing the COVID backlog or reducing waiting time for medical procedures.
