The Second Annual Student Health and Wellbeing Event returns for the second year.
In the UK Higher Education, an estimated number of 700,000 students join their universities with mental health conditions - according to the recent UCAS research. As the mental health remains a pressing issues across Higher Education post COVID, the Government launched an up to £3 million investment to join up universities, NHS and mental health services to close the gap.
Children and young people alike suffer from mental health illness since the pandemic. According to the NHS, the number of children and young people in England waiting to receiving mental health treatment or receiving it hit 420,314 - the highest number recorded since 2016. The urgency has reflected on the additional £79 million promised by the Government to increase access to mental health services across communities, schools, and colleges.
Join the Second Annual Student Health and Wellbeing event to hear the latest policy updates on supporting wellbeing and safety of students at all levels. The event will provide best-case studies on trauma-informed approach, recovering from pandemic, whole-university approach, Mental Health Charter Programme, prevention-led approach, and supporting neurodivergent students.
Last year's Working Together To Improve Student Health and Wellbeing 2021 event featured presentations from representatives of Universities UK, Office for Students, University of Oxford, University of Liverpool, Birmingham City University and many more.
