Dr Khayamian Esfahani is an Advisory Board member of the UEL teaching fellowship scheme by CREST and recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) by Advance HE. Dr Khayamian Esfahani's pioneering research is at the forefront of bridging gender and human-centred design. Her research enhances health-related behaviours by shifting the focus from the pre-identified gender stereotypes in the design of products, services, and systems.

Dr Khayamian Esfahani's long track record of peer-reviewed publications, collaborative research projects, and supervision of PhD projects established knowledge leadership in this underexplored research area. Her interests range broadly across User Experience (UX) research integrating qualitative and quantitative user research with a particular focus on digital healthcare design.

Her passion is to transform change and empower the next generation of engineers, particularly women in Engineering and STEM subjects. She is an ambassador for outreach programmes, including STEM Sussex and WISE Campaign, to promote and create pathways for women in engineering, removing the stigma and overcoming gender biases that impact women's careers in engineering.

She previously held academic positions at the University of Liverpool (UK) and the University of Brighton (UK).
