Deputy Chief Nursing Officer

Acosia Nyanin is a deputy chief nursing officer for NHS England. She is a registered mental health nurse with more than 20 years’ experience in a variety of front-line and leadership positions. Her previous leadership roles include regional chief nurse for NHS, South East England; director of quality in the South of England; professional lead for acute mental health and addictions with the Priory Group; head of inspection for adult social care at the Care Quality Commission and chief nursing officer at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. In July 2023 she also became a member of the board of trustees for Macmillan Cancer Support, inspired by Macmillan’s work to support people with cancer and their loved ones; providing her clinical expertise to the board to inform and enhance person-centred care to help shape Macmillan’s future plans.

Ms Nyanin has dedicated her career to providing person-centred care in health, NHS and social care services and improving outcomes for patients.
