Working in Partnership to Prevent Suicide

Online Event 8 September 2022, 9:00am - 3:00pm

Overview

The latest reported figures for suicide in the UK show that just under 6,000 people take their own lives each year. Suicide is still the leading cause of death in men under 50 in the UK, with men three times more likely to take their own lives in the UK than women.

A former Chief Executive of the Samaritans, said, “it is hard to convey the devastation with just numbers, a suicide is like a rock thrown into the water with the ripples spreading outwards, covering family, friends, soaking work colleagues, acquaintances, the wider community”.

Coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day, IGPP’s brings you the first annual Working Together To Prevent Suicide event. This event will address the leading causes of suicide, underlying factors putting an individual at risk of taking their own life and how we can come together to prevent suicide for good. We will consider the importance of awareness and open conversation, the need for further workplace support and guidance around the issue, and how to best identify and support someone at risk. Join us as we discuss how we can work together to prevent suicide.

We have a limited number of sponsored speaking and branding opportunities available. Complete the sponsorship enquiry form or email [email protected] for more information.
