Online Event 13 July 2022, 9:00am - 3:00pm
In December of 2018, the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs published Our Waste, Our Resources: A Strategy for England. It set out the Government's plan to promote resource efficiency and move towards a circular economy, amongst other proposals. The targets included ensuring that 65% of municipal waste is recycled by 2035 and eliminating all avoidable waste by 2050.
Councils in England currently spend £852 million per year on waste collection for approximately 23 million dwellings which require a weekly or fortnightly refuse and recycling collection.
This timely event will explore how authorities continue to develop their strategies to meet the environmental targets of the Resource and Waste Strategy, as well as redesigning and digitising their waste services to become more efficient and save money.
Delegates will hear practical case studies from organisations who have transformed their waste management operations by digitisation, service redesign, recycling food and plastics and improving commercial waste management services. Leading academics will share their ideas for the future for both the circular economy and revolutionising waste management for a more sustainable future.
We have a limited number of sponsored speaking and branding opportunities available. Complete the sponsorship enquiry form or email [email protected] for more information.
