How can organisations move beyond awareness to create workplaces where neurodivergent people can thrive?
Neurodiversity is increasingly recognised as a strategic workforce priority across the UK, yet many employers continue to face challenges in translating good intentions into meaningful action. Around 15–20% of UK adults are estimated to be neurodivergent, while recent Acas research found that only 32% of employees believe their organisation effectively train managers to support neurodivergent colleagues. In response, the Government is reforming the Disability Confident Scheme to place greater emphasis on accountability, measurable outcomes and inclusive employment practices, while Acas continues to strengthen guidance on neuroinclusive recruitment, workplace adjustments and manager capability.
Despite growing awareness, many organisations continue to struggle with creating consistent workplace adjustments, supporting employees without a formal diagnosis, developing inclusive recruitment and progression pathways, and harnessing new technologies such as AI without introducing bias. Leaders are increasingly expected to demonstrate measurable progress in creating psychologically safe, accessible and inclusive workplaces that enable neurodivergent employees to succeed.
The Institute of Government & Public Policy has built a strong reputation for delivering engaging and impactful conferences focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. Building on the success of past National Neurodiversity in the Workplace Conferences, the 2027 programme will again bring together leading employers, policymakers, academics, advocates and people with lived experience to share practical strategies, innovative approaches and the latest policy developments to help organisations create neuroinclusive workplaces.
Previous delegates praised the conference for its insightful content, high-calibre speakers and practical takeaways, with many describing the event as inspiring, thought-provoking and full of ideas to take back to their own organisations.
Feedback from previous attendees includes:
"An eye-opening conference which has given me plenty of ideas to take back to my team"
"I really enjoyed the different perspectives on the same subject matter"
"The calibre of the speakers was very high. They all presented well, engaged the audience, and I enjoyed each topic"
