Education Director

Andrew is the Education Director and executive board member of the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB) in England. 

He has led on the creation and delivery of a programme of education, delivered across the NHS in England to frontline staff working in patient safety.  The programmes has been developed with the golden threads of systems thinking and human factors to share HSSIB’s unique investigation remit; learning from, not just reacting to harm.    The programmes have enrolled 39,000 learners in less than 3 years. 

Andrew holds an executive MBA and postgraduate qualifications in healthcare leadership and professional management in higher education. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, registered Project Management Professional and Prince2 practitioner.

Andrew believes that patient safety should be at the heart of all healthcare systems. He is passionate about learning for improvement by providing robust, effective and practical education programmes, to build stronger and safer systems.
