Anita trained as a Registered Mental Nurse in 1988 in Leicester. On qualifying she worked in an adult mental health setting before moving into dementia care as a deputy and then ward sister. It was whilst working there that she became aware of everything she wasn’t doing for her patients with tissue viability needs. Fast forward and Anita established a tissue viability service across mental health services in Leicestershire, she transferred to community health services in 2014, becoming Clinical Lead Tissue Viability for Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, covering community, community hospitals, mental health, learning disabilities and paediatric community. Anita has published a number of articles relating to tissue viability and mental health, as well as care pathways for biofilm wound management. She has spoken both nationally and internationally, and remains passionate about patient care and quality improvement……..as well as running!
