Louise qualified in 1989 at Bolton Royal hospital NHS Trust, and she became interested in wound care after caring for patients with leg ulceration whilst working in elderly medicine.
During the course of her career, she met Jacqui Fletcher and Karen Ousey who both helped her to develop her knowledge and skills within the field of tissue viability, supporting staff on the prevention and management of pressure ulcers and wound management across the trust.
Louise's passion was all about practice and patient experience through the delivery of high quality, safe care by strategically working across the site developing policies/ procedures, undertaking contracts to provide specialist equipment, reviewing evidence-based practice, and supervising and igniting passion for Tissue Viability within the IPC/TV team and across the organisation.
She has published a few articles, developed posters for wound care conferences, presented at local and national conferences, been a clinical reviewer for Cochrane reviews and involved in several research projects with colleagues from Manchester University and other universities.
