The Third Annual Changing Landscape of Cyber Security in the Public Sector Event

Online Conference 2 March 2023, 9:00am - 3:00pm

Overview

The 2022-30 Cyber Security Strategy outlines the Government’s ambition to be a democratic and responsible cyber power, highlighting the challenges of developing cyber resilience and tackling the risks and disruptions of cyber attacks.

According to the Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2022, 39% of businesses have identified cybersecurity attacks in the last 12 months. The most common threat vector was phishing attempts (83%) and only 23% have a formal cyber security strategy in place.

Data from PwC’s Global Economic Crime Survey shows that 64% of UK firms experienced incidents in the last two years, up from 56% in 2020. Of all the fraud types, cybercrime is the most common, with 32% having fallen victim to a cyberattack.

This event will examine the key issues related to improving cybersecurity in the UK in 2023. It will give a vital insight into how organisations can protect themselves against attacks by becoming more resilient and adept at identifying and managing cyber risks.

Hear the latest government policy and updates from key agencies and listen to case study examples from a wide range of public sector organisations including education, healthcare, local government and central government.
