Rob Armstrong is currently Associate Director of Operations at Leeds Teaching Hospitals (LTHT), having previously worked in general management roles across LTHT, and in transformation and operations elsewhere in the NHS.
Rob’s current portfolio of services include multiple surgical specialties, such as orthopaedics, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, dentistry, ophthalmology, ENT and Max FAX, as well as adult critical care, and theatres and anaesthesia. He has also previously worked in Abdominal Medicine Surgery, urgent care and sexual health services giving a full overview of treatment and care.
LTHT is a large teaching hospital providing secondary care to communities in West Yorkshire and the North of England, as well as holding a reputation for innovation and specialist services. Rob is the Planned Care Transformation Programme lead for LTHT's Operational Transformation Strategy.
Rob’s ability to engage colleagues and patients to work collaboratively helps to deliver real improvements in elective capacity and productivity. His latest projects have included additional theatre capacity at existing elective hub sites, new theatre resource and increase in the number of procedures treated as day cases or as outpatients with procedures outside of a theatre environment.
