Nicola has always enjoyed learning so explored various academic interests (History and Philosophy, Forensic Science and Archaeological Science) before eventually completing a DipHE in Operating Department Practice in 2011. From there she joined a busy Orthopaedic department doing Anaesthetics and Scrub before specialising in Anaesthetics in 2016 when she moved to Addenbrookes.
Since 2018 Nicola has worked in the Practice Education team overseeing new starter inductions and continuing professional development. In 2019 Nicola began a ‘specialism’ in Human Factors in CUH Theatres helping to organise a project to embed Human Factors into the operating theatre. She is currently involved in creating an online PG Cert pathway with the aim of providing career development options for staff and a cross skilled workforce and is also completing an MA in Digital Education.
She is particularly interested in Technology Enhanced Learning, Mental Health Awareness and Human Factors.
