Alexandra Norrish holds a dual role as Development Director at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, which recently received £9m of levelling up funding to develop the Centre for Child Health Technology, and as Programme Director of the national Children’s Hospital Alliance, where much of her work is focused on reducing the impact of poverty and inequalities in access to acute care for children and young people. She has worked in the NHS since 2014, with a focus on shared working and collaboration between acute providers, and access to care. Prior to moving to the NHS she worked for 15 years in the civil service, in the Department of Health, Cabinet Office and Number 10, including roles as Deputy Director of the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and heading up the 2008 Green Paper on Social Care which laid out proposals to provide social care free at the point of need.
