As a committee member of Engineering Professors' Council (EPC), Prof Dr Fawad Inam is advising All Party Parliamentary Group for the Teaching Profession, Greater London Authority Adult Education Strategy & recently Local London forum, a partnership of 8 London boroughs in the north & east of the capital. Prof Inam has been involved in technical and commercial development of high value technology products like key armour/ nanostructured materials for British defence purposes and Airbus A350, to name a few, in addition of other commercial products like Sugru. As a Chartered Engineer (CEng) & an active Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), he has advised/ quality assured over 50 different universities & institutes from all the four nations of the UK. Prof Inam has formed/ strengthened international partnerships, delivered engineering courses & influenced institutional higher education practice in other countries like China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia & the Netherlands, to list a few. With over 125 research articles, he has presented several keynote speeches at various leading international conferences, and was one of the 2% most cited scientist in the world, as per the study conducted by the Stanford University. He is also among the 1% Millennial Full Professors in the UK as to the recent Advance HE, Equality + higher educational staff statistical report 2019. he has contributed in achieving over £2.5 million research and enterprise income from government and commercial platforms. Some of his funders include Royal Society, British Council, Innovate UK, Dstl/ MoD, University of London, Greater London Authority, Commonwealth Scholarship Commission etc. He is the recipient of the 'Materials World Award' conferred by the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (UK) in 2008 for his services to the engineering sector. Apart from his PhD from a Russell Group University (Queen Mary University of London) awarded in 2009, Prof Inam is in receipt of two accredited postgraduate teaching qualifications & recognised as one of the leaders (PFHEA) in engineering curriculum design & technologies. Recently, he was honoured with the 'Industry 4.0 readiness' award by the Vice Chancellor & President of the University of East London.
