Sophie Randall is Director of the Patient Information Forum.
The Patient Information Forum is the UK membership body for people working in health information and support. It represents more than 300 cross-sector organisations, including national patient groups, NHS Trusts and the private sector/industry.
PIF provides training for members and produces expert guidance on the production of health information. 2020 publications include
Sophie represents PIF on the NICE Shared Decision Making-Collaborative and the Professional Records Standards Body’s Advisory Group . She also sits on Janssen’s Patient Advisory Group.
Sophie was co-founder of Oyster Healthcare Communications. Oyster specialised in co-producing healthinformation with people with long term conditions including IBD, diabetes, MS and cancer. Sophie has a particular interest in digital tools, risk communication, peer support and health inequality.
Sophie started her career as a journalist specialising in public health before moving into health information.
Sophie has personal experience of accessing mental health services as a parent/carer.
