The UK government announced an investment of over £14 billion for primary and secondary education between August 2019 and 2022/23. From 2020/21 every secondary school will receive a minimum of £5,000 per pupil and from 2021/22 every primary school will receive a minimum of £4,000 per pupil.
The Prime Minister’s intention is to ensure that every child receives a superb education, regardless of which school they attend or where they grew up. In April 2019 the Secretary of State for Education announced a new strategy for education providers and the technology industry entitled ‘Realising the potential of technology in education’. It aims to harness the potential of EdTech in the education sector by developing and embedding technology to cut workload, foster efficiencies, remove barriers to education and drive improvement in educational outcomes.
This timely event will explore how teaching and learning in schools is being improved by innovation and technology. It will examine crucial issues such as improving technology infrastructure, promoting digital safety, developing digital capability and skills and supporting the procurement of education technology in schools.
