Sarah Jardine is currently Chief Inspector of Construction and Director of HSE’s Construction Division. She joined HSE in 1997 and has inspected many different industries including specialising in paper manufacture, rubber and plastics, printing, engineering and fairgrounds. During her career she has held operational policy roles for agriculture and the entertainment and leisure industries. She was involved in the rewriting of HSG175 “Fairgrounds and Amusement Parks: Guidance on Safe Practice”. As a principal inspector she managed frontline operational teams covering a wide range of industries in the East Midlands before moving to run the construction team based in HSE’s Nottingham office. Before moving to her current role she was a Head of Operations in HSE’s Construction Division managing the Units regulating construction activities in Midlands, South and South West England and Wales, then Midlands and the North West.
