Ann is a Chartered Surveyor with over 35 years experience working within property and construction. She has worked within the private and public sector for companies and organisations including SEGRO, HBOS and John Lewis. For the last 8 years she has led the £1bn campus development at Glasgow University championing the use of the estate to support new approaches to pedagogy and collaborative research. She left the University early in 2008 to take up the post of CEO at  the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. Ann also has several non- executive roles including Chair of Architecture Design Scotland, Chair of the Scottish Board of Women in Property, sits on the Board of the Scottish Water Commission and Scottish Futures Trust. She supports Construction Scotland and is a Trustee of the National Museum of Scotland. In 2019 she was awarded an MBE for her services to Higher Education.
