The Fourth Annual Countering Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Conference 2023

Online Conference 14 December 2023, 9:00am - 3:10pm

Overview

Child sexual exploitation is a grave concern in the UK, with alarming statistics indicating a 129% increase in online sexual abuse reports involving children aged 7-10 in 2022 alone. However, these figures likely represent only a fraction of the cases, highlighting the urgency for more robust measures to protect our children. The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) report emphasises that “child protection must be given a much greater priority in public life.”

In light of this critical issue, the Institute of Government & Public Policy is hosting the annual Tackling Child Sexual Exploitation Conference. This event will provide crucial updates on the latest policies, including insights into the Government’s Tackling Child Sexual Abuse Strategy and advancements in identifying, preventing, and addressing child sexual exploitation.

Join us at the Fourth Annual Countering Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Conference 2023, where we will explore key themes such as understanding the far-reaching impact of exploitation, legislative frameworks, online safety measures, victim support, and the importance of community cooperation. By fostering interagency collaboration and sharing best practices, this conference aims to equip attendees with actionable strategies for prevention, early intervention, and empowerment of survivors.
