Lisa is the Head of Operations at Going Forward Into Employment, a programme run by the Civil Service which opens up employment opportunities to those that may have barriers to employment, including prison leavers, veterans, carers and care leavers. Having started her Civil Service career in the Prison Service, Lisa saw first-hand the challenges that can be faced by people who have experienced disruption or setbacks in their personal and working lives, and how these barriers can be both external (stigma from others) or internal (confidence and aspirations). With a career anchor in HR, Lisa strongly believes in the benefits of people-focused recruitment practices and adapting the way we recruit to be inclusive for people of all backgrounds.
