David Linden was born in Glasgow, the son of two Blochairn fruit market workers. Prior to being elected as a Member of Parliament, David spent nine years working for the Scottish National Party in Westminster, Holyrood & Brussels. He also spent two years working at Glasgow Credit Union, during which time he completed a qualification in Business Administration.
David is the SNP's Social Justice spokesperson in Westminster and is a member of the House of Commons Work and Pensions Select Committee. He is also the co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Poverty. This group advocates for people who are experiencing poverty and examines the current social security system. David’s main policy interests focus on social security, housing, immigration, and poverty.
He is passionate about working towards an independent Scotland and standing up for his constituents across the East end of Glasgow.
