I have worked in the Security Industry for over 27 years, initially in Contract Security in the corporate sector but for the last 15 years as an In-House Security Manager in the higher education sector.

Job titles along the way include Security Officer, Security Controller, Shift Leader, Supervisor, Contract Manager, Webmaster (I was on a break!), Operations Manager and now Security Manager.

My keenness to continuously improve the Security industry has led me to undertake many voluntary roles outside of my main job currently including: 

- Chairman AUCSO (Association of University Chief Security Officers)

- Security Commonwealth Board Member

- Co-Chair SyCom EDI Special Interest Group

- PSS (Public Space Security) group member

- UK OSPAs Judge

- Security and Fire Excellence Awards Judge

- BSI Standards Development group member

I have also been fortunate enough to be recognised at industry level with a Bravery Award, Team of the Year Award, OSPAs In-House Manager of the Year finalist in 2019, and Security Manager of the Year finalist in the Security Excellence Awards 2020 and 2022. Received the UCL Outstanding Individual Contribution to Achieving Our Mission award in 2021. Recognised as an IFSEC Global influencer in Security and Fire 2021.
