Emma Patterson-Bennett is the Diversity & Inclusion Lead for BBC Northern Ireland. Emma works with Executive Teams, Senior Leaders and Colleagues to make the BBC more representative across its workforce and foster an inclusive culture where everyone can feel like they belong.

Emma was previously Equality & Diversity Manager at the Education Authority. Emma developed the first Gender Action Plan for the organisation including designing and leading on the award-winning Menopause Workplace Policy.

Emma previously worked at CAJ for 8 years, where her focus was strategically working to effect change on critical equality and social justice issues through the use of the statutory equality duty. Emma was also part of the BrexitLawNI Project identifying the human rights and equality aspects of the EU exit for Northern Ireland.

Emma is a Board member of the Creative Industry New Entrants Scheme (CINE), a positive action scheme to get more under represented groups into the creative industries in NI. Emma proudly supports the work of Employers for Disability NI as the BBC Rep on the Board and is an Independent Assessor for Diversity Mark.
