Alex joined Defra in 2019, working in a range of Brexit facing roles before taking responsibility for strategy and system reform in the department’s waste and resources portfolio in June 2023. He will be responsible for working across both Defra and Whitehall to unify Government’s strategic approach to resources and waste, aiming for coherent solutions and reforms that generate meaningful progress towards Government’s long-standing commitments and ambitions.
