Online Conference 15 August 2023, 9:00am - 3:00pm
The ambition to make senior leadership teams more diverse has been continually becoming a top priority across the globe. While it remains high on the corporate strategic agenda in many countries, is it bringing the expected results?
The most recent, government-backed FTSE Women Leaders Review highlights and celebrates the success of achieving the goal of women making 40% of the boardrooms in the FTSE 350 companies three years ahead of the target set. However, the report identifies further areas for improvement – 30 FTSE 350 companies are still below the 33% by 2020 Board target, and 125 FTSE companies are below the 33% by 2020 Leadership target. The gender pay gap in April 2022 was at 8.3% (with 7.7% in April 2021), and according to the charity Pregnant and Screwed, working mothers have been increasingly deteriorating due to discrimination and injustice.
The Institute of Government and Public Policy’s Progressing Women in Leadership online conference will be a fantastic discussion platform to explore the progress made to date, and identify some of the limiting factors and challenges affecting women’s journey into leadership. The delegates will also have an opportunity to debate potential solutions and support systems that can make a real difference. It will be a valuable experience for senior women leaders looking to overcome barriers on their professional journey and for women-supporting charities, Human Resource professionals, mentors, coaches, and trainers. Any other professionals interested in creating a gender-balanced, diverse boardroom of the future will also find the programme informative and insightful.
A variety of speakers from a range of relevant organisations and sectors will provide a well-balanced, comprehensive overview of the current landscape that women pursuing a career in leadership face.
