Mr Alastair Lewis is a consultant phlebologist and former vascular surgeon with extensive experience in the assessment and minimally invasive treatment of venous disease. Appointed as a consultant vascular surgeon in 2007, he subsequently led the development of varicose vein services in Northern Ireland before moving into full-time private practice.

He now works exclusively in venous medicine, with a particular interest in endovenous ablation, foam sclerotherapy, microsclerotherapy and the management of complex and aesthetic venous conditions. He has performed more than 7,000 varicose vein procedures and is recognised for his expertise in modern, minimally invasive techniques.

Alastair is President of the British Association of Sclerotherapists and serves on the board of the International Union of Phlebology. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Sclerotherapy. Through these roles, he is actively involved in advancing education, clinical standards and international collaboration in phlebology.

He is a regular invited speaker at national and international meetings, where he lectures on sclerotherapy, aesthetic phlebology, venous intervention and the prevention and management of treatment-related complications. His clinical practice is based in Belfast, with additional work in Dublin. He is committed to improving outcomes through evidence-based, patient-centred venous care worldwide.
