Sekinat Adima

Sekinat Adima is a highly experienced Family Counsellor, Consultant, and Educator with a robust background in both the charitable sector and private consultancy. With a Master's in Education and a degree in Counselling, Sekinat combines her expertise in education and mental health to provide invaluable support and advocacy to individuals and families.

She has dedicated over 25 years of her career to working in the charity sector, where she has held a range of positions from grassroots to Director level. During this time, she has developed a deep understanding of the complexities faced by families and communities, advocating for their needs and shaping policies that drive systemic change. Her work has spanned support, advocacy, policy writing, and fundraising, demonstrating her versatility and leadership in advancing the social causes she is passionate about.

In addition to her work in the charitable sector, Sekinat runs her own consultancy business. As a consultant, she delivers training and educational support, helping organisations and individuals understand and address the complex issues surrounding family dynamics and mental health.

Currently, Sekinat is working with the AWRC (Asian Women's Resource Centre) to deliver the first of its kind in the UK — a training course on harmful practices related to independent domestic violence. This initiative represents a significant milestone in Sekinat’s commitment to combating domestic violence and supporting survivors.

Her extensive experience, deep empathy, and unwavering dedication make her an expert in her field, and she continues to impact lives through her work in education, counselling, and advocacy.
