Archna has worked in the NHS for 23 years. She qualified as a pharmacist from Kings College London in 1995, and started her career in Boots the Chemist delivering front line community pharmacy, before moving to NHS acute and mental health services. She was one the first pharmacists to pioneer pharmacist input into the post take ward round in the Royal London Hospital Emergency Department and was an early adopter of General Practice based prescribing advice and patient medication reviews.
Her patient facing experience led her desire to drive change on a wider population basis, and she changed path to be the lead commissioner for community services, alongside leadership for the Community Pharmacy and Dental contracting portfolios in Camden PCT.
She is now the Director for Specialised Services and Cancer working with the NEL Acute Provider Collaborative, part of the East London Health and Care Partnership, working with clinicians closer to service delivery to embed a new model for specialised commissioning and end to end pathway transformation, to improve quality and outcomes for the NEL population.
