Paul is a strategic digital construction specialist and educational innovator with over 25 years of transformative experience in the built environment sector. As Technical Director of White Frog Publishing Ltd, Paul has dedicated his career to bridging the critical gap between industry needs and educational frameworks.
A pioneering figure in Building Information Modelling (BIM) adoption, Paul was part of the original team that brought Revit to EMEA during his tenure as Technical Evangelist at Revit Corp. and then Autodesk. He subsequently chaired the development of the AEC (UK) BIM Protocols for Revit, which served as a precursor to British and International standards, cementing his role as a thought leader in digital construction standardization.
Paul’s impact on workforce development is unprecedented – through his authored books on Information Management software and principles, used in training centres and academic institutions worldwide, he has been indirectly responsible for upskilling hundreds of thousands of professionals globally. His educational strategies have supported diverse organizations ranging from sole traders to multinational companies, including a comprehensive top-down digital transformation initiative for the entire nation of Ethiopia.
As the newly appointed Vice Chair for Upskilling and Education at nima, Paul is leading the ambitious task of guiding Information Management methodology dissemination across all industry levels. His current focus involves developing a comprehensive framework that encourages consistency in approach while responding to the specific needs of diverse roles – from lawyers and manufacturers to asset owners, contractors, and designers. Rather than promoting a one-size-fits-all approach, Paul advocates for niche delivery to targeted audiences, working collaboratively with special interest groups, institutes, and trade bodies to define role-specific IM requirements and build tailored course specifications for training providers.
Currently spearheading the development of this National Framework for IM Education, Paul continues to shape the future of built environment education through transparent curricula and tailored career pathways that support lifelong learning. His expertise spans curriculum design, apprenticeship frameworks, stakeholder engagement across academic institutions and industry leaders, and strategic policy development.
A trusted advisor and regular speaker at global conferences, Paul brings both deep technical expertise and strategic vision to conversations about the future of digital construction, skills development, and educational innovation in the built environment sector.
