Meg is seconded to UCU for 1 day a week to support UCU members with progressing a Green New Deal in further and higher education as well as all things climate and environment related. UCU Green New Deal provides a framework for members to organise and negotiate for better environmental and sustainability practices and approaches, in order to deliver on a just and fair transition away from an education sector which relies on and upholds the fossil fuel industry. Her role involves supporting ordinary members, green reps and the UCU climate and ecological emergency committee to drive this work forward.

She is seconded from Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK) where she is co-director of inclusion and climate justice and acting managing director of SOS-International. This secondment helps to ensure strong partnership working between the student movement and trade union movement when progressing environment and climate issues in further and higher education.
