Improving Sustainability in the Workplace 2023

Online Conference 14 September 2023, 9:00am - 3:00pm

CPD accredited by IGPP badge

Overview

Sustainability is fast becoming a key priority for many organisations as sectors look to reach Net Zero by 2050. Leaders will need to reduce the carbon footprint of their organisation, utilising energy and water efficiency measures, greening the supply chain and developing a sustainable IT strategy. The Government has set its own standards as part of the Greening Government Commitments, with further steerage to be found in the recent Heat and Buildings Strategy and the work of the Energy Efficiency Taskforce. It is clear that improving sustainability in the workplace is a large-scale challenge that will require complex organisational transformation.

Sustainability is also increasingly becoming a hugely influential priority for the workforce, shaping trends in retention and recruitment. A recent survey has shown that a third of Gen Z workers have rejected job offers based on the company’s approach to sustainability. Representation of this demographic in the workforce is only going to rise in the decade to come. Looking at the entire workforce, 88% say their job is more fulfilling when they’re provided opportunities to make a positive impact on social and environmental issues. Improving sustainability in the workplace is shown to improve employee engagement and satisfaction, increase profit and drive productivity.

Improving Sustainability in the Workplace 2023 will explore current expectations and policy guidelines for sustainability in the workplace and show how sustainability can be factored into organisational transformation and embedded across departments, policies and processes.

Join us to hear about the financial and social benefits of implementing a sustainability strategy, find out what change looks like across employee engagement and operations, and learn from practitioners who have already had success in their sustainability initiatives.
