Improving Education Facilities Management In Schools 2021

Online Event24 November 2021, 9:00am - 3:00pm

Overview

Facilities management has a pivotal role in enhancing teaching environments, improving the culture of schools, colleges and universities and supporting students’ education outcomes.  Studies show that safe, well-maintained school buildings that are free from disruption can increase teaching time and reduce rates of teacher turnover by 25%.

Careful planning is required to maintain buildings and equipment while meeting health and safety regulations. The investment of over £1 billion to support the first round of the School Rebuilding Programme comes on top of the Government’s commitment to allocate £1.8 billion for school repair and upgrade projects over this coming year.

Tens of thousands of pupils are set to benefit from new, modern, energy efficient school buildings with 50 schools confirmed for the first wave of the Prime-Minister’s ten-year rebuilding programme. Investment in schools will be prioritised on the basis of buildings’ condition and rebuilding projects will be greener, helping to meet the government’s net zero target.

Education Facilities Management 2021 will give delegates the latest Government and policy updates together with a comprehensive range of case studies from schools and universities covering key topics of interest. These will include improving health and safety; accessing facilities management services; improving energy efficiency and reducing costs.
