Toyosi Oyinloye is currently the Deputy Head of the School of Computer and Engineering Sciences at the University of Chester (UK). She is a Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity. She began her career as a Programmer/Analyst, specialising in the design of graphical user interfaces for data management systems. Following several years of industry experience, she transitioned into the field of Cybersecurity and subsequently undertook her PhD research in enhanced software protection, with a specific focus on the x86 and RISC‑V central processing units.
Toyosi’s research interests include software exploitation, software protection mechanisms, and social engineering. She leads the Cybersecurity programmes at the University of Chester, which are certified by the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) for adequately covering the Cybersecurity Body of Knowledge (CyBOK).
With over 20 years of experience across the computing discipline and a track record of working with diverse teams in various capacities, Toyosi applies her expertise to influence development across both information technology and leadership domains. Her leadership extends beyond the cybersecurity field as she contributes actively to the strategic and operational management of her school and supports initiatives that promote young people’s and girls’ participation in tech at different levels of education across the UK.
Toyosi is a role model who is committed to diversifying leadership and promoting representation of women in technology and leadership roles.
