Overview

COVID-19 has thrown the topic of the health and wellbeing of employees into the forefront of every organisation's agendawith 75% of senior leaders agreeing employee health and wellbeing is of paramount importance.

Due to the pandemic, the way we work has changed drastically. According to the Office for National Statistics over 46% of workers were working from home in April of 2020. The pandemic effected the health and wellbeing of everyone. Over 27% of the active workforce were furloughed under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme between 23rd of March and 5th April 2020. For those working from home, the work/life balance is more blurred than ever, with over 80% of parents juggling working from home and home-schooling between 7th of May and 7th of June 2020

It is important that organisations take an active role in the health and wellbeing of their employees during this unprecedented time. As we see a shift in organisational culture, it is apparent that a happy and supportive work environment leads to a more productive and successful team. And it is a change that is set to stay.

As we look to a post-pandemic world, we consider what the future of work looks like. With 76% of employees experiencing symptoms of burnout in 2020, it is apparent that the wellbeing and health of the workforce is more important than ever.

This event will explore the impact COVID-19 has had on health and wellbeing at work, what is being done by organisations to support their employees and what steps the Government is taking to ensure a safe return to work. It will explore the future of work beyond the crisis, and the pivotal importance of the health and wellbeing of employees, and what changes will be taken forward into the future.
