James is the CEO of Building Cost Information Service Ltd (BCIS) and Chair of the Built Environment Carbon Database (BECD).

BCIS is the leading provider of construction cost data in the UK, and in addition to this James also leads a pan industry initiative to improve the quality, consistency, and availability of carbon data through the Built Environment Carbon Database. BECD is considered an essential part of the solution in allowing us to measure and reduce the carbon emissions in our industry.

James has an extensive history in cost and carbon measurement, management, and benchmarking, and was previously a Director at RICS responsible for data and information products.
