Driving Sustainability in the Built Environment

Online Conference 17 May 2023, 9:00am - 3:00pm

CPD accredited by IGPP badge

Overview

Organisations involved in the construction, operation, and demolition of buildings and infrastructure in the UK are under great pressure to achieve Net Zero by 2050.  The scale of change needed is huge, as the built environment currently contributes 25% of the UK's total greenhouse gas emissions. The UK Green Building Council's Net Zero Whole Life Carbon Roadmap sets out the changes required in regulation and policy to help the industry reach these targets as well as important action plans and recommendations for key industry stakeholders. Although this guidance will help shape the next wave of innovation for the sector, many more challenges are yet to be fully understood and there has never been a more pressing time for cross-sector collaboration.

Join us at the Driving Sustainability in the Built Environment event to unpack different models of sustainable development, investigate understanding of the built environment as a system and hear how new urban environments are leading the fight against climate change. Through keynote presentations and audience Q&As, you can explore new government policies supporting this shift in practice and identify the support available to organisations that strive for a greener future.
